Robert William fine artist

“He’s just a hot rodding Daddy-O”. Lydia Lunch on Robert Williams

Juxtapoz // Screen writing

Blending the essences of punk rock, psychedelics, hot rod culture and pulp comics, fine artist Robert Williams founded the “Low Brow” art movement, kick starting a creative revolution. (If you’re unfamiliar with Robert’s work, check it out HERE, the detail, backstory and execution are incredible.) Shunned by traditional art media, he created Juxtapoz – a magazine to champion the misfits that would go on to be the world’s most influential contemporary art publication.

We were delighted to be commissioned to tell Robert William’s story of his impact as a fine artist and the birth of Juxtapoz Magazine – one of the 9 episodes we wrote for the award winning documentary series The Ripple Effect a Red Bull TV x Hamblin Imagery production.

Featuring: Robert Williams, Lydia Lunch, Craig Stecyk, hot rod legend Pete Chapouris and more.
