Prior to nearly two decades working as a writer, Demi Taylor was embedded in youth marketing, handling the communications for the world’s largest surf company. It is this big picture, brand know-how, as well as a reputation for authentic storytelling that she brings as second nature to every project.
She has written groundbreaking documentaries, series and films working with brands, businesses and production companies and has a feature film in funded development documenting the life of an iconic female athlete. She is the author of numerous best-selling, non-fiction books exploring surf, adventure, and travel, guiding them from ideation through to delivery. Demi contributes to the national and lifestyle press including The Independent, The Observer, The FT, Health & Fitness and Huck Magazine. As a cultural commentator, she has delivered talks on the culture of surfing for creative agencies and national titles.
Demi delivers bespoke comms packages for a select number of clients across fashion, action sports, events and music. She has created authentic content for brands from Land Rover to Finisterre and manages projects for in-house publications – shaping content and guiding the commissioning process.
Demi is the Director of the international London Surf / Film Festival. As a producer and curator she has worked with some of surf culture’s most exciting brands, artists, filmmakers and musicians to produce compelling programmes and authentic activations that delight and entertain.
