About the Author

From the moment he first stood on the cramped concrete terraces of the latter half of the 1970’s, Chris Nelson has been hooked on the beautiful game. He has followed his hometown team through a landscape of dizzying highs and crushing lows, see them slay mighty giants and watched them vanquished by plucky minnows. His journey has taken him from title wins through to relegations and from heady European adventures to the depths of administration. It has not always been easy following a team with a propensity for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, but as any long suffering fan knows, when you pick a team, it’s for life – not just for Christmas.
